How to Add/Edit/Delete DNS Records

With any DNS changes it usually takes 24 hours, to fully propagate: to all servers. It may not take a full 24 hours but if you do not see a change right away or only see the change on certain computers, you will need to wait longer for the change to take effect. Add DNS Records

  1. Log into your BYU Domains account
  2. Find the section Domains
  3. Click Zone Editor
  4. Select the record type you want to enter (A, CNAME, MX, etc.)
  5. Enter the Name value
  6. Enter the Address value
  7. Click Add Record

Edit DNS Records

  1. Find the section Domains
  2. Click Zone Editor
  3. Scroll down to view your current DNS Records
  4. Click the Edit button to the right hand side of the record you want to update/change
  5. Make any necessary changes
  6. Click Edit Record to save the changes

Delete DNS Records

  1. Find the section Domains
  2. Click Zone Editor
  3. Scroll down to view your current DNS Records
  4. Click the Delete button to the right hand side of the record you want to delete
  5. Confirm the deleting by clicking Delete again
