Database User Management

With the steps below edit who can access your Database

All operations below are accessed from MySQL® Databases on the BYU Domains dashboard.

Create User

  1. Scroll down to find the heading Add New User
  2. Enter a Username
  3. Enter a Password
  4. Click Create User

Delete User

  1. Find the heading Current Users
  2. Find the user you want to delete
  3. Click Delete

Edit User

  1. Find the heading Current Users
  2. Find the user you want to edit
  3. Click Rename
  4. Enter a new name and click Proceed

Change User Password

  1. Find the heading Current Users
  2. Find the user you want to change the password for
  3. Click Change Password
  4. Enter a new password and click Change Password

Associate User to Database

  1. Find the heading Add User to Database
  2. Select a user
  3. Select a database
  4. Click Add
  5. Choose the user’s privileges
  6. Click Make Changes

Disassociate User from Database

  1. Find the heading Current Databases
  2. Locate the database you would like to remove users from
  3. Click the trashcan icon next to the user you want to remove (not the Delete trashcan on the far right)
