Attach BYU Domain URL to a Specific PHP File.

There are various file extensions (.html, .php, etc.) that web developers use for the types of files that a website uses.

For example, to replace the default page (default.html) with a PHP page, you might try to save the file as “default.php” or “home.php.” Entering your URL alone would bring up a page like this:

To load your default/home/main page saved as a PHP file, the file should be saved as (index.php).

Otherwise, to access the default page, you would have to enter examplesite.com/default.php to access that page. Saving the file as index.php allows the server to execute the PHP code on the page to display content without having to write default.php in the URL bar.
